Precision Machining Technology

Philosophy
Students who earn the Technical Certificate in Precision Machining Technology will be prepared for a career in manufacturing. Students will learn skills in manual machining, as well as, the programming, set up, and operation of CNC mills and lathes. Additionally, students will become familiar with safety protocols and gain proficiency in the application of measurements and blueprint reading and application.

Outcomes
  1. Read and interpret blueprints per industry standards.
  2. Demonstrate safe practices in the workplace. 
  3. Proficiency in the safe operation of manual mills.
  4. Proficiency in the safe operation of manual lathes.
  5. Proficiency in the programming, set up, and operation of CNC mills.  
  6. Proficiency in the programming, set up, and operation of CNC lathes.
