On Friday, December 6, the John E. Miller building at Ozarka College was filled with holiday cheer and excitement as families gathered to welcome Santa Claus for this year's Christmas event themed "Gingerbread Lane. " This free annual event, hosted by the Ozarka College Foundation and White River Health, brought the community together to celebrate the magic of the season in a joyful and family-friendly atmosphere.
The evening offered a variety of activities for attendees of all ages. Each child had the special opportunity to meet Santa Claus, share their holiday wishes, and have their photo taken with him. Meanwhile, festive entertainment filled the building, including Christmas movies in the auditorium, holiday-themed temporary tattoos, ornament decorating, letters to Santa, Christmas stories, and a delightful "snowman soup" activity. Guests were also treated to an array of snacks and drinks prepared by Ozarka College's talented Culinary Arts department.
"The Ozarka Foundation is thrilled to host this event each year," said Dr. Josh Wilson, Ozarka College president. "Seeing families come together, create lasting memories, and really kick off the Christmas season is what this event is all about. "
Special thanks to White River Health, the primary event sponsor, as well as the many individuals and organizations who made this celebration possible. These include FNBC, First Community Bank, Izard County Health Coalition, Single Parent Scholarship, and Northcentral Arkansas Education Co-op. Their support and contributions played an essential role in making this event a success. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the numerous Ozarka College and community volunteers who dedicated their time to ensure this holiday gathering brought smiles to every face.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Ozarka College!
