Students gathered for the freshman seminar on Friday, August 27, 2021 in the lecture hall of the Melbourne campus. Freshman Seminar (FS) is an introductory class offered to first-year students to help them acclimate to the college environment, develop effective strategies for studying, and learn techniques that will allow them to swiftly complete small assignments and sizable research projects.
With 62 students in attendance, the course is designed to help first year students adjust to the college, develop a better understanding of the learning process, and acquire essential academic survival skills. The course also provides a support group of students in a critical transition by examining problems common to new students.
