Mountain View campus will be hosting a continuing education course - Living Better with Diabetes. Led by Ana Hollis, the classeswill take place onMarch 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. in the Student Services Building at Ozarka College in Mountain View,located at 1800 Ozarka College Drive.
Living Better with Diabetes is a class designed for individuals with diabetes and those who cook or shop for them. This four-lesson course teaches the basics of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including signs, symptoms, and complications. Participants will learn self-care and food management strategies to improve their quality of life. The course also covers how to identify carbohydrate-rich foods, manage portion sizes, and read nutrition labels. In addition to following the guidelines of the American Diabetes Association, this class provides meal-planning resources, portion control tips, and recipes for delicious, diabetes-friendly meals.
