Vice President of Advancement and Workforce Development

Ozarka College is seeking applications for Vice President of Advancement and Workforce Development.  The Vice President of Advancement and Workforce Development serves as the chief community, industry, and government relations officer to the President and is responsible for the overall operations of community outreach and development including the Ozarka College Foundation. The Vice President will serve as the liaison with regional economic developers as well as appointed and elected officials. The Vice President acts under the direct leadership of the President to promote Ozarka College and the importance of higher education throughout Izard, Fulton, Sharp and Stone counties. 

The Vice President of Advancement and Workforce Development conducts the following activities on behalf of Ozarka College:

Position Specific:

  • Networks with area chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, and other organizations to support local community efforts.
  • Supports the President in advising the Foundation Board members as to the pertinent needs of the College and other concerns as requested.
  • Guides the Director of Development and the Foundation Board in their efforts to generate revenue for the college and to complete the goals of their strategic plan.
  • Maintains rapport with Foundation board members and supports Foundation fundraising events as needed.
  • Leads all workforce development efforts, including setting workforce strategy, promoting technical programs and training offerings, collaborating with area high schools, engaging regional industries, and informing technical program curriculum alignment.
  • Assists the President with all capital campaigns, including strategy development and goal setting.
  • Assists the President with strategic initiatives including grant development and management as well as other special projects.
  • Works with the Office of Finance to maintain accurate financial data in regard to the Foundation’s budget and to assist with annual audit requests.
  • Maintains rapport with Foundation Board members.
  • Supervises the offices of development, grants/strategic initiatives, and marketing as well as any accompanying administrative assistant personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years experience in a community college setting.
  • Proven commitment to community/civic service.
  • Demonstrated experience working with industry and community constituents.
  • Computer skills in basic office software such as word processing, spreadsheets, email and student data systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and use good organizational skills to take initiative and coordinate daily workload.
  • Proven interpersonal skills both written and verbal to promote understanding, respect for others and clear articulation of the college mission.
  • Commitment to personal integrity in all working relationships with others.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and to accept new responsibilities as assigned.
