Registrar

Ozarka College in Melbourne is seeking qualified applicants for Registrar.  The Registrar, acting under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services, will provide leadership to plan, organize and manage all activities related to records and registration. The Registrar is responsible for the supervision and evaluation process of the Student Records/Assessment Specialist, Career Coaches, and others as assigned. The Registrar is a twelve-month positon.

Position Specific:

  • Organize and administer the records, registration, and graduation functions of the college.
  • Responsible for transcript evaluations and input of acceptable transfer course work into SONIS.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reporting of student records within FERPA guidelines.
  • Complete reports required by the ADHE, and other required state and federal agencies.
  • Keep informed of Federal and state rules and regulations pertaining to the administration of military education benefits and serve as primary VA certifying official.
  • Responsible for the completion of appropriate surveys.
  • Provide leadership for the implementation of technology that will enhance the quality of student services.
  • Resolve student disputes as they relate to student records.
  • Collaborate with administrators, division chairs, faculty, and other staff to facilitate and improve services to students.
  • Validate all Ozarka College graduates by working with advisors and division chairs.
  • Assist the division chairs in the articulation of courses with other colleges and universities.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the Career Coach Program.
  • Keep informed of the testing center policies and procedures and serve as a proctor as needed.
  • Co-chair the disability services committee.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities. 
  • Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
  • Assist in the academic advisement and registration of students.
  • Participate and serve as an integral part of the student services team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree.  (Masters preferred) 
  • Two-years work experience in higher education.
  • Proven record of successful experience in a people-orientated environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the application of technology to deliver records and registration services.
  • A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the administration, division chairs, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students.
