Director of Nursing Programs

Ozarka College is seeking applications for Director of Nursing Programs. The Director of Nursing Programs, acting under the direction of the Division Chair of Allied Health, ensures excellence in teaching and learning by providing vision, direction, and oversight of all activities within the nursing programs. The Director of Nursing Programs is responsible for all aspects of the LPN and RN programs, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the programs, as well as other duties as assigned. This is a twelve-month position, full time position.

Position Specific:

  • Coordinate, plan, review, and evaluate all facets of classroom and clinical education including creating and delivering curriculum to meet requirements of program approval and/or accreditation.
  • Develop and implement policies related to admission, retention, and progression of students.
  • Maintain documentation as required by program approval and/or accreditation standards, prepare reports for internal and external purposes, and carry on correspondence related to the program.
  • Participate in the budgeting and procurement process.
  • Initiate and maintain clinical affiliation agreements.
  • Conduct annual program advisory committee meetings and collaborate to assess the needs of the community and utilize the committee to validate and/or improve program effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership, direction and oversight to all assigned course offerings within the nursing programs.
  • Evaluate program, course, and student learning outcomes.
  • Work effectively with the Division Chair of Allied Health and nursing faculty to develop, enhance, and promote curriculum and programs.
  • Ability and willingness to teach assigned course load which may include simulation, clinical, lecture, and lab.
  • Serve on Ozarka College committees as assigned to assist in providing programs and services that develop and enhance students as members of the college community.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of an Ozarka College faculty member as outlined in a timely and effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas.
  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program/institution.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Possess and demonstrate proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning. Finalists will be required to demonstrate competence through a teaching demonstration.
  • Knowledge of Arkansas State Board of Nursing Standards of Nursing Education Programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to ensure continued growth of programs.
  • Demonstrate effective positive reinforcement to the students learning experience.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to assisting students and faculty.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated effective organization skills.
