Description

Beginning Hoop Dance provides an opportunity for people of all ages and capabilities to improve their range of motion by focusing on movement, breath, and flexibility. Much like dance, hooping increases coordination, grace in movement, core strength, tones the muscles, and improves cardiovascular fitness. During these 4 weeks, we will dive into off-body techniques, such as weaves and isolations! We will also explore on-body techniques, such as waist hooping, introduction to shoulder hooping, and stalls. Hoop dancing is excellent fitness for the body and a meditation-like state for the mind. This session is perfect for students who are new to hooping, or those who want to improve their hoop practice. After this series you will have a good understanding of hoop dance basics, which will send you on the path to finding your flow! This class will meet every Monday for four (4) weeks from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm on the Ash Flat Campus. The cost is $60 for students under the age of 60 and $48 for students 60 years of age and above.
