Wendell Edwards named Ozarka College's Academic All-Star

Wendell Edwards is a gifted scholar and exceptional student leader who takes pride in being active in his church, and has been a remarkable role model assisting with youth athletics in his community.   Wendell has earned a 4.0 GPA, and is expected to complete his Associate of Science in Business in December of 2018.   Wendell is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Upon completion of his degree at Ozarka, Wendell plans to attend Arkansas Tech University in spring of 2019.   Wendell's future goals include completing a degree in Accounting with ATU leading to a successful career in the accounting field.  

Every year, one student is selected to represent Ozarka College at the Arkansas Community Colleges Awards Brunch in Little Rock as the Academic All-Star. All-Star recipients receive a $500 scholarship to an Arkansas public four-year college or university of their choice.

Minimum eligibility requirement for this honor include: the student must be an Arkansas resident, currently enrolled in an Arkansas two-year college with the expectation to be enrolled in the same college through at least fall 2018, have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours toward an associate degree with the intent to graduate by summer 2019, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 in all credit coursework.

Edwards will be recognized at the ACC All-Star brunch on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
