Agriculture Preview Day at Ozarka College

 The Career Planning Services Department of Ozarka College will be conducting an Agriculture Industry Workshop in the John E. Miller Lecture Hall on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The workshop will bring together students who are enrolled or interested in the Agriculture certificate or degree programs.   The workshop will include a panel of industry professionals who will share their knowledge of employment within the industry and field questions from participants. Invited guests include professionals such as a cattle and poultry farmers, agriculture educators, insurance agents, stockyard managers, county extension agents, pharmaceutical sales representatives, and agriculture loan officers. A pizza lunch will follow for registered guests.  

The workshop will begin with panelist introductions, proceed into an open question and answer session between students and panelists, and end with an opportunity for students to network with these industry professionals. The goal of this event is to create awareness of the technical as well as professional skills students need to develop in order to maximize their employability within the incredibly diverse field of agriculture.

Current and past Ozarka Agriculture students, students and community members who are considering Ozarka Agriculture certificate or degree programs, and high school students enrolled in related career and technical education programs, are encouraged to attend. The event will be co-facilitated by Dr. Casey Orr, Agriculture Program Coordinator, and Kendra Smith, Career Planning Mentor.
Space is limited, so please RSVP Dr. Orr at  casey.orr@ozarka.edu  or  kendra.smith@ozarka.edu  by April 1 if you plan to attend.  
Career Planning Services is funded by the Carl D. Perkins Grant, which is a federal grant aimed to develop the academic, career, and technical skills of high school and college students enrolled in career and technical education programs.
