Ozarka College Receives Approval for New Hangar

Published on October 17, 2019

Ozarka College has been awarded a grant by the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics to build a maintenance hangar at the Melbourne airport.   The Melbourne City Council approved the grant application that provides the Ozarka College Aviation Program the space it needs to accommodate their substantial rise in student enrollment. Ozarka College will cover the 20 percent match in the 80-20 percent grant as payment for a long-term lease with the City of Melbourne.

Ozarka Aviation students graduate with a commercial, multi-engine certificate which leads to immediate employment in this high-demand industry.   Those who earn their Certified Flight Instructor rating have immediate employment at 45-50 dollars per hour throughout the state.

For more information about flight training at Ozarka College or the aviation program, please call John Catlett, Director of Aviation, at 870-368-7926 or email
