Ozarka College - Mtn. View Offers Wood Burning Course

Published on June 5, 2017

Ozarka College in Mountain View will host a continuing education course, taught by Brandy Solis, with a hands-on approach to the fundamental techniques and concepts of drawing and wood burning. This two-week course will be June 12 through June 22, 2017, meeting Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Wood burning, also known as pyrography, is the craft of touching wood or leather with a heated poker to produce decorative burn marks, achieving a large range of decorative effects. There will be an emphasis on exploration and individual creativity in this course. Students will learn new techniques using wood-burning tools, express themselves through creative wood burning, and gain familiarity with wood burning as an art form.

The tuition is just $40.00 per student, $35.00 for ages 60 and over.   Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. Please contact Lindsay Wilson-Galloway, director of Ozarka College - Mountain View, by phone at 870.269.5600 or email: lhgalloway@ozarka.eduto enroll.
