Chris Layne, Lead Automotive/Diesel Technology Instructor, has been named Ozarka College Alumni of the Year. Chris holds an associate degree from Ozarka in Automotive Service Technology and is a Master ASE Certified Technician.
"Chris Layne is vital to the success of our automotive program and an exceptionally talented faculty member, " said Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka College president. "We are fortunate to have him as a colleague and very proud of his selection. "
Layne joined Ozarka in August of 2010, as the Automotive Service Technology Instructor. Prior to Ozarka, Layne worked as a service manager and technician for multiple motor companies.
"Ozarka College gave me the educational opportunity to earn an Associate's degree in the Automotive Service Technology program, " said Chris. "For several years I worked in the automotive service industry. But now as an instructor at Ozarka College, I enjoy teaching and helping students succeed in their chosen career path in this same industry. "
Layne has also served on several committees over the years, including Automotive Service Technology Department, Campus Preparedness/Safety, Instructional - Applied Science and Technology Division, and the Automotive Service Technology Advisory Council.
