Food Preparation Coordinator (Ozarka Culinary Café Manager)

Ozarka College is seeking applicants for the position of Food Preparation Coordinator that will serve as the Café Manager for the Melbourne campus Café.  The Food Preparation Coordinator works under the direction of the Chef and Instructor in the Culinary Arts Department. This position requires attention to detail, high energy, and willingness to accept responsibility

Primary Duties:  

The Food Preparation Coordinator position is responsible for supervising food service in the Ozarka Café by composing and checking menus, and ordering food items and supplies, in addition to monitoring processes used in the preparing of the meals.  More specifically, the manager will:

• Inventory food and supplies
• Check food deliveries and supplies
• Monitor and resolve equipment problems
• Supervise clean-up of the kitchen area
• Assist in preparing food for special events
• Maintain cost and inventory records
• Other related duties and assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required
• Six months experience in institutional cooking or related field
• Possess or acquire Serv-Safe Certification within 60 days of hire
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Demonstrate effective organizational skills
• Good personal hygiene and appearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts
