Published on December 14, 2017

Clay Mosley, Ozarka College aviation student, is officially a pilot! On December 8, 2017, Clay, who resides in Melbourne, completed his check ride while traveling from Searcy to Pine Bluff. At the conclusion of this flight, he completed his practical examination and earned his Private Pilot Certificate. He was required to complete a knowledge test as well as a practical examination consisting of an extensive oral exam and demonstration flight with an FAA approved Designated Pilot Examiner.

When asked why he started flying, Clay stated that flying has always interested him and now is as good of time as any to start his career in aviation. His career goals include transferring to Henderson State University after graduating from Ozarka College, then flying commercially. "Clay is a very skilled aviator and will make an excellent commercial pilot, " said John Catlett, Ozarka College director of aviation. "We are very proud of Clay! "

Upon completion of Ozarka's FAA approved Part 141 flight school, students have the opportunity to transfer to Henderson State University (HSU) in Arkadelphia, Arkansas or University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg, Missouri. For more information about flight training at Ozarka College or the aviation program, please call John Catlett at 870.368.7926 or email: flying@ozarka.edu. Discovery flights may also be scheduled with the Ozarka College aviation program.
