Published on August 31, 2017

Ozarka College in Melbourne, Arkansas will host a series of Core Praxis Workshops for Ozarka's teacher education students and alumni. All workshops are free to attend and will be led by Cheryl Toon, teacher education program director.

The workshops will meet on Tuesdays during the month of September, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in room 101 of the Walter B. Hall building. Each workshop will cover content material needed for the exams, and include practice exams that will help acclimate the students to the testing questions. Students will also receive take home materials to further their studies.

"There are three parts to this five-hour exam, and  all three parts of this exam must be passed by the students before they are allowed to move into Stage II of the Teacher Education Program and begin the process of transferring to their final degree plan destination, " explained Mrs. Toon. The 1st workshop will take place on September 5 and will cover Reading. Writing will be covered in the 2nd workshop and Math in the 3rd workshop. Core Praxis overview/exam strategies will be presented during the final workshop, meeting on September 26.

Participants may attend as many of the workshops as they would like, but pre-registration is required to ensure enough materials are available. To register, please call Cheryl Toon at 870.368.2037 or email: cheryl.toon@ozarka.edu.
