Published on March 12, 2018
Ozarka College's Career Planning Services department will be conducting industry workshops at Ozarka College - Ash Flat this week. Current and past Ozarka Information Science Technology (IST) and Criminal Justice (CJ) students, students and community members who are considering either of these programs at Ozarka, and high school students enrolled in related career and technical education programs are encouraged to attend.
The IST Industry Workshop will take place on March 14 at 1:00 p.m. and the CJ Industry Workshop will be on March 15 at 10:00 a.m. Both workshops are free to attend and will begin with panelist introductions. The workshops will allow for an open question and answer session between students and panelists, then provide opportunities for students to network with these industry professionals.
The goal of both events is to create awareness of the technical skills and soft skills students need to develop in order to maximize their employability within the fields of Information Science Technology and Criminal Justice. The workshops will be hosted by Career Planning Services and funded by the Carl D. Perkins Grant. This federal grant's purpose is to develop the academic, career, and technical skills of high school and college students whom are enrolled in career and technical education programs.
