John E. Miller Family Donates $5,000 to the Ozarka College Capital Campaign

Published on January 20, 2015

The family of the late Representative John E. Miller  has committed $5,000 to the Ozarka College Student Services Center Capital Campaign. Their contribution will pay to furnish a student study area in the Student Services Center on the Melbourne Campus.

Representative Miller married his wife, Ruby, in 1949 and together they have three grown children, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In 1958, Representative Miller began his forty years of service when he was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives.

"The entire Miller family is delighted to support this very important project at Ozarka College, " said Ruby Miller. "We could not pass up this opportunity to name a space in the Student Services Center after our loved one, John E. Miller. The College was always near and dear to his heart, as he served the people of this area in the state legislature. We continue to honor him and the things that were important to him and our family. "

"We are so grateful for the long legacy established by John E. Miller and the continued commitment of the Miller family for Ozarka College " said Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka College President. "Ozarka has been a powerful force in Melbourne, our four county service area, and northern Arkansas for forty years. We're all very thankful for Representative Miller's vision, tenacity and life of public service. "

The "Students at the Center " capital campaign is a bold step to raise the quality of educational and student support services at Ozarka College to new heights. The campaign will help ensure student success and will enhance the campus to create a more community-centered learning environment.
