Orr's donate $2,500 to Ozarka College Capital Campaign

Published on August 8, 2014

Dan and Nancy Orr, residents of Sharp County since 1961, have committed $2,500 to the Ozarka College Student Services Center Capital Campaign.   Their contribution will pay to furnish an area in the Student Services Center on the Melbourne Campus.

Dan and Nancy opened Ozark Title Company in 1971, which they owned and operated for 43 years.   Dan has been a practicing attorney since 1964 and Nancy serves on the Ozarka College Foundation Board.

"I think it's very important that the folks in our area have the opportunity to attend college and I think they should start at Ozarka College," said Nancy Orr.   Both Mr. and Mrs. Orr are avid supporters of Sharp County 4-H, Hillbilly Horseshoe Association, Sharp County Fair and the North Central District Fair.

"We are very grateful for the Orr's contribution. Dan and Nancy are such strong supporters of the College and our students and we applaud their commitment," said Dr. Richard Dawe, President at Ozarka College.

The new Student Services Center, currently under construction, will house all student services, various individual and group study areas, community meeting rooms, a video conferencing center, additional banquet space for college and community use, and a state of the art culinary learning lab.

The â€Å"Students at the Center capital campaign is a bold step to raise the quality of educational and student support services at Ozarka College to new heights. The campaign will help ensure student success and will enhance the campus to create a more community-centered learning environment.

Donation levels range from $2,500 to $250,000.   The Ozarka College Foundation, a non-profit organization, as well as the Ozarka College Board of Trustees, will ensure the funds are used for expressed purposes.
